MacGregor is an anti-American fabulist who has sold anti-semitism and racism to anyone who is willing to pay. Instead of accepting his service when he was forced out as a colonel, unable to advance in rank, he grew angry at the US Army and anyone of General rank. Many Republican congress people hate him, nothing that he is “Putin’s man in the GOP.”

He is most famous for repeating Russian anti-semitic comments.

MacGregor is scum and not to be believed. He repeatedly has said since July of 2022 that Russia is only weeks away from capturing Kviv, and has either approved of the genocide in Ukraine,

Worse, he predicted on 27 Feb 2022 that “Now the battle in Eastern Ukraine is almost over, the Ukrainian troops are largely surrounded and cut off, now they have a concentration down in the southeast in 30 to 40 thousand , and if they don't vend, surrender the next 24 hours, the Russians will ultimately annihilate them”, and he said in September 2022 that Ukraine was losing in Kharkiv.

Doug was apparently quite competent while he was on active duty. I crossed paths with him a few times; he always seemed like he knew what he was doing. He graduated from West Point, was a solid military professional and holds a PhD from the University of Virginia. He clearly is - or was at one point - quite smart.

I’ll let you in on a little secret, many senior officers have no idea what to do when they retire. There was indeed to be a Battle of Odesa (please use the Ukrainian spelling, not the Russian.) But the Ukrainians won!

The original plan was for there to be a huge amphibious landing just east of Odesa. It would have been the largest amphibious landing since D-Day in WWII, almost a hundred years ago. The landing force would conquer Odesa, then split into two groups. One would pivot east and join up with the forces in the Kherson axis while the other would pivot west and join up with Russian forces in Transnistria and conquer the rest of Moldova. Then things started going wrong!

If almost everyone who are gathering information about one specific issue says something, and then one person says the total opposite, you should consider the possibility that the one person is wrong and all the others are right.

If that one person also has a history of telling outright lies, and comes with a strong suspicion of being paid, either in money or in favourable treatment, from one side of the issue, um, well, if you trust that person to tell the truth, you richly deserves all the laughter you’ll be getting from people who are better informed.

During the WW2 there was “Lord Haw Haw” it was was a nickname applied to William Joyce, who broadcast Nazi propaganda to the UK from Germany. The broadcasts opened with "Germany calling, Germany calling", spoken in an affected upper-class English accent.

Oddly enough he was American-born and raised in Ireland. While a teenager he was an informant to the British about the IRA members during the Irish War of Independence. Joyce was captured by British forces in northern Germany, just as the war ended, tried, and hanged for treason on 3 January 1946.
